To recognize professional managers, the MSMA has established the Certified Mail and Distribution Systems Manager (CMDSM)
program. This certification process provides for an individual to be evaluated, tested, and certified on the body of
technical knowledge and management skills necessary for performance in the profession. Today there are over 350 CMDSM
accredited professionals in the mail system management profession.

The Certified Mail and Distribution Systems Supplier (CMDSS) is the foremost certification program for mail and distribution
industry suppliers. The Mail Systems Management Association certifies that candidates that pass the CMDSS Exam have
the necessary qualifications and skill sets, and have mastered the specific body of knowledge designated by the Association
as requisite for effective performance as a mail communications industry supplier.

Format
Both CMDSM & CMDSS exams are timed (maximum 4 hours) and include 135 Multiple Choice Questions and 5 Essays.
Exams are typically administered prior to the Spring & Fall Mailcom Conferences, but can be proctored locally (check with
your local MSMA Board of Directors for details).
